The NFL issued a statement on Tuesday in which it pronounced itself on the death of John Madden, a member of the Hall of Fame as a coach and also a very charismatic figure in American sports.
Madden also served as an important broadcaster for this discipline. “On behalf of the entire NFL family, we extend our condolences,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. “We all know him as the Raiders Hall of Fame coach and broadcaster who worked for all the major networks.”
