Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) is holding a workshop till August 22 to discuss the draught of the national plan to combat oil pollution and pollution by dangerous and toxic substances, represented by the Department of Industrial Inspection and Pollution Control.
Accordingly, the Department of Industrial Inspection and Pollution Control, in cooperation with an international company specialising in this field, is drafting a national plan to regulate the work of bodies responding to oil pollution incidents and incidents of pollution with hazardous and harmful substances. This plan is one of the main requirements of the International Convention on Toxic Substances.
“This workshop aims to prepare a national plan to combat oil pollution and pollution by hazardous or harmful substances in coordination with concerned authorities,” said Dr Muhammad Ayed Al Shimmari in his opening remarks. “This workshop aims to prepare a comprehensive national plan that regulates oil pollution and pollution by hazardous or harmful substances.”
