Qatar National Bank “QNB” offers Apple Pay to its customers

QNB, the largest financial institution in the Middle East and Africa, announced the launch of Apple Pay, the most secure and private payment method. This will allow its customers to conduct their transactions without any physical contact, using the advantages of iPhone devices.

QNB customers can pay by swiping their iPhone or Apple Watch near the payment machines without contacting. This method allows the safe completion of purchase transactions, as they are using (Face ID – facial recognition) or (Touch ID – fingerprint) or by entering the device passcode. This is also in addition to a one-time security code to ensure maximum security and protection.

Apple Pay is accepted anywhere, including pharmacies, taxis, restaurants, coffee shops, retail stores, and many other places.

This step comes within the framework of QNB Group’s keenness to develop an integrated set of innovative digital payment solutions to meet the challenges from the Covid-19 pandemic and enable its customers to conduct payment transactions without contact while protecting their payment data.

Commenting on the launch of the service, Mrs Heba Al-Tamimi, General Manager of Retail Banking at QNB Group, said: “We are proud to be the first bank to introduce Apple Pay in the Qatari market. This achievement comes to provide our customers with the latest innovative payment technologies, giving them a banking experience that meets their aspirations and changing needs and guarantees The highest and most advanced levels of services.

This service will allow bank customers to make payments quickly and easily from within the application or on the Internet via the Safari browser on iPhone, iPad and Mac computers, without the need to create accounts or enter shipping and billing information each time. Apple Pay can also be used to make in-app payments on your Apple Watch.

Physical card numbers are not stored on the device or on Apple servers. Instead, a device-specific account number is created, encrypted, and then stored in an authorized chip designed to store information.

It also offers certain rewards and benefits for using the QNB cards.
