Qatar’s beach volleyball team beats Italy to the Olympic semi-finals

The Qatari team is still on the flight to grab a gold medal in Beach volleyball of Tokyo 2020. The national beach volleyball team managed to beat Italy 2-0 and sealed their spot in the semi-finals. The team is now preparing for the match against the duo of the Russian Olympic Committee. The semi-finals are at 10.00 pm Tokyo time, Β 5 August 2021.

The Qatari team win the exciting match in the strong Italian atmosphere that took place at Shiokazi Park Stadium in Tokyo yesterday.

The Qatari victory was not at all an easy one as stars Sherif Younis and Ahmed Tejan worked hard to break the Italian defence.Β 

First half

The first half of the match seemed balanced at the beginning. The match continued to deliver the same game until it all changed in the eight-point of the first half. The Qatari team managed to lead the first half then with confidence brimming in their every step. The Qatari Baech Volleyball team then took control of the game to end with a progression of 21-17.

Second Half

The Second half was entirely different from the first half of the game. The leaders dominated the game without any complications and bumps. Even it seemed like a draw, in the beginning, things changed on the way to the end. The second half moved forward favouring the Qatari team, but the Italian team surprised everyone by equalizing at point 19 and managed to tie at point 20. Then they settled the second half. Then the moment that all were waiting for became alive as the Qatari Beach Volleyball duo, Sherif Younis and Ahmed Tejan settled the second half with a lead of two points. The match came to and with that as the Qatari duo managed to pull off 5 consecutive wins and a spot in the big four at Tokyo 2020. The duo and everyone are excited for the semifinals that will take place on 5 august 2021, 4:00 pm Doha time.Β
