Resident Evil 7: Delivered over ten million times

As Capcom announced, “Resident Evil 7” recently reached the next major milestone and became the second most successful title in the company’s history. Also for the remakes of “Resident Evil 2” and “Resident Evil 3” new numbers were mentioned.

In line with the close of the last fiscal quarter on September 30, 2021, Capcom also updated the sales figures for its own titles and provided the official website with a corresponding update.

This shows, among other things, that “Resident Evil 7” was delivered 10.2 million times or sold digitally worldwide. The adventure of Ethan Winters, which was released for consoles and PC in January 2017, secured the title of the second most successful game from Capcom. Only the action role-playing game “Monster Hunter World” was more successful, which together with “Iceborne” sold more than 20 million copies.

The remakes also developed into successes

Furthermore, it is pointed out on the official website that the remakes of selected “Resident Evil” classics also developed into commercial successes. “Resident Evil 2” from 2019, for example, was delivered a further 300,000 times in the past quarter and now has 8.9 million delivered or digitally sold units.

“Resident Evil 3”, which appeared in 2020, however, increased by 200,000 units to 4.6 million copies sold. “Resident Evil Village”, on the other hand, currently has five million games delivered and digitally sold. The end of the proverbial flagpole is unlikely to have been reached here.

So “Resident Evil Village” not only continues to sell at a solid level. In addition, Capcom announced downloadable content for “Village” at E3 2021. When these should appear is still unclear.
