Xbox Game Pass from Microsoft is on the rise

introduced the latest Files Microsoft to SEC Insight on Xbox Game Pass growth.

The subscription service witnessed a 38 percent increase in the total number of subscribers compared to the company’s last fiscal year.

And while that’s impressive year-over-year growth without an exclusive Halo-like offering. But it falls short of the company’s internal target of 48 percent growth.

This shows how important these massive releases of Xbox Game Pass games are. It also explains why the company is spending so much on acquisitions.

The software giant had been expecting slower growth overall for fiscal year 2021. In fiscal year 2020, the Xbox Game Pass subscription service grew 86 percent, exceeding the internal target of 71 percent.

But with no Halo and few other notable or exclusive Xbox Game Pass releases during this reporting period, the company knew the service wouldn’t repeat that 2020 expansion in 2021.

And while Xbox Game Pass had some releases like The Ascent and Outriders, these weren’t enough to push the Xbox Game Pass subscriber base over 50 percent.

“We’re redefining how games are distributed, played, and viewed with Xbox Game Pass,” the company said. With our acquisition of ZeniMax Media, we’ve made 20 of the world’s most popular games accessible via Xbox Game Pass.

And that growth is likely to pick up quickly again this holiday with Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite. In addition to the company’s ability to deliver games like Starfield in November 2022 and beyond.

Microsoft is currently spending a lot of money for growth. But you know it needs to see significant growth to justify its investment.

Microsoft has more than 100 touchscreen games

The company now has more than 100 Xbox Game Pass games that support Xbox Touch Controls. The software giant is adding 13 games to its touch screen games list. As a result the total comes to more than 100 games.

Touch games allow Xbox Game Pass members to stream games across Windows PCs, iOS devices, Android phones and tablets without a controller.

Developers have created custom cross-screen controls and added other controls to improve the experience of using a touch screen only for playing games.

Touch controls first started alongside the launch of xCloud a year ago, with only Minecraft Dungeons supported at launch.

And Microsoft expanded to 10 touch-screen games a month after the launch of xCloud. And it’s been adding new games monthly since then.

Thirteen other games support touch, and you can find full list For games on the Microsoft Xbox website.
