Supporting Qatar’s efforts to host an exceptional edition of the World Cup in 2022

Ms. Afra Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of the Jusoor Institute of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, confirmed that the Institute worked during 2021 to provide important education and training programs aimed at supporting Qatar’s efforts to host an exceptional version of the World Cup in 2022.

“Our efforts to support the sports industry and manage major events in Qatar and across the region have also continued,” she said.

And she continued, “We offered online throughout the year 2021 diploma programs in the field of sports and organizing major events, in cooperation with the Bocconi College of Management. The programs included professional and administrative aspects in the sports and events industry, which aimed to empower participants and provide them with the knowledge and information necessary to advance their careers.”

She added, “At Josoor Institute, we are well aware that the sports and events industry extends far beyond the pitch, and actively contributes to helping our students develop a set of professional skills that will ensure them achieve their goals and succeed in this multi-faceted pioneering industry. Senior specialists from reputable institutions concerned with sports and events in enriching the content of the programs by sharing their experiences and advice with the Institute’s affiliates, the programs also included advanced courses in leadership, and this is our sixth batch of professional diploma programs.And by the spring of 2022, the number of graduates will exceed 450 specialists in the field of sports and organizing major events.

The Executive Director of Josoor Institute said: “During 2021, we hosted a number of workshops aimed at developing executive leadership in cooperation with the Leaders in Sports Foundation. The initial workshop activities were conducted online before organizing the actual attendance schedule in the British capital, London. She added: “The graduates of this program will join the graduates of the Professional Development Program to form a strong network of competent professionals in Qatar, the region and internationally, which highlights the mission of the Jusoor Institute, which aims to build a strong base of highly qualified human resources, after the curtain falls on World Cup competitions in Qatar next year.

In addition, Josoor Institute organized training programs that covered a wide range of sectors, including the training of volunteers who provided support and assistance to the operational processes of the Arab Cup. The Institute also made many strategic contributions, including the development of an integrated curriculum that combines all courses The institute also took an active part in training the workforce and community communication teams to participate in supporting the various organizational and operational aspects of the Arab Cup, which was hosted by Qatar from November 30 to December 18, 2021.”

As for football, Ms. Afra Al Nuaimi said: “We cooperated with the Qatar Football Association to develop and organize training programs on sports management targeting colleagues in football federations in Southeast Asia, and we also organized a strategic workshop for the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy to exchange information and experiences with colleagues. From the European Football Association, and the workshop dealt with the European Nations Championship “Euro 2020”, which hosted its competitions in 12 European cities last summer.

And she continued: “In late November, the Josoor Institute sponsored the Leaders Meeting: Qatar 2022 Conference, with the participation of speakers from the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, beIN Sports, the International Football Association (FIFA), and Generation Amazing, in addition to many local authorities. The timing of the conference came in an important strategic period about a year before the start of the Qatar 2022 World Cup and before Qatar hosts the Arab Cup, and the Institute once again hosted the Bridges Dialogue Forum to expand the dialogue and discussion on the field of sports and organizing events in the region and abroad.”

She continued: “One of the most important lessons learned in 2021 is organizational flexibility and commitment to an innovation approach, as we continued to work effectively despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, and we were keen to increase the number of in-person and online sessions for programs and workshops, while accelerating the learning and development process for our All members of the institute.

In conclusion, she added: “We look forward to continuing our role in 2022 as the country and the region prepares to host the World Cup, and we will continue to work hard and do our best to ensure that the knowledge gained from this historic event is shared with the next generation of professionals in the sports sectors and the organization of major events across the region .”
