Best experience on PS5 in quality mode
Last week, the action title “Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy” developed by Eidos Montreal was released for consoles and PC. A detailed performance analysis reveals what is technically offered on the new generation of consoles.
With “Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy”, Square Enix and the Canadian developers of Eidos Montreal released an action title based on the popular Marvel brand last week.
And wherever an ambitious triple A title is launched, the mandatory performance analysis from Digital Foundry should of course not be missing. This is available now and looks at what is technically offered on the new generation of consoles. So much in advance: According to the Digital Foundry, “Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy” offers the best gaming experience in quality mode on both the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X.
Performance mode misses the targeted 60FPS
But one after the other. On the new generation consoles, “Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy” was equipped with two display modes in the form of performance mode on the one hand and quality mode on the other. In performance mode, the action title is displayed in the native 1080p resolution and with 60 frames per second – at least that’s the theory. According to the Digital Foundry, however, this value is repeatedly missed.

To make matters worse, the display of the damage and the graphic effects or details themselves have also been reduced in the performance mode. Therefore, Digital Foundry recommends the quality mode to all players, which offers not only 4K resolution, but also various graphic improvements and optimized anti-aliasing.
