49ers coach revealed Jimmy Garoppolo has a right hand injury
49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo sprained his right thumb in the 49ers’ Week 16 loss to the Titans.
Shanahan said Garoppolo was unable to pitch in practice Monday and a report from the quarterback will be resubmitted on Wednesday.
Shanahan characterized Garoppolo’s injury as a right thumb sprain that occurred when he was sacked in the second quarter. He wasn’t able to throw today. Shanahan said “we’ll see” when it comes to whether he’ll be able to throw Wednesday.

In the event that “Jimmy G” is unable to play in Week 17, rookie Trey Lance would be in charge of leading the offense against the Houston Texans.
