Battery life is a big question mark for MacBook Pro

Apple introduced the new versions of the MacBook Pro laptops, and the new versions came with various improvements, along with the new design with the usual screen bump on iPhone phones, with the latest and highest-performing M1 Pro and M1 Max chipsets.

Perhaps one of the most important factors for any portable PC is battery life. Apple appears to be quite optimistic about this. where it is I said Officially during the event, the 16-inch MacBook Pro version was the best in terms of battery life.

However, Apple has relied on a very strange criterion to explain how good MacBook Pro batteries are, which is the number of hours of video playback. Where the company stated that the 14-inch version of the MacBook Pro will support video playback for 17 hours, compared to 21 hours for the 16-inch version.

Experts believe that relying on a criterion such as the number of hours of playing video content is an inaccurate criterion in judging laptop batteries. That’s where Apple mentioned that this estimated time is how long the content will play through the Apple TV app.

In fact, modern processors include parts dedicated to playing visual content in general without consuming power. Therefore, some argue that Apple was just bragging. Actual battery level measurements are not provided in the newer versions.

Internet browsing tests revealed that browsing 25 popular websites using Wi-Fi in the new versions of the Apple PC consumes a lot of energy. This is in light of the dependence on the brightness level of 8β€³.

The results were released by Apple itself. Which relied mainly on its own Safari browser for measurement, instead of relying on the more popular Google Chrome browser, which is more energy-intensive.

Speaking of numbers, the 14-inch MacBook Pro comes with a 70Wh battery. While the 16-inch version comes with a 100Wh battery. But in general, the new computers offer better battery performance than the Intel versions. But it’s just that Apple has gone a little over the top.
