There are only four different models among the assault rifles available for publication. We see the same thing with the submachine guns. Sniper players can choose between three sniper rifles, while the light machine guns only have two models. The last weapon category is also sparsely equipped with three guns.
Some fans are disappointed with the number of guns. Far too little is offered in this regard for a modern first-person shooter. A user describes the LMG category in particular as “ridiculous”.
For comparison: The WW2 shooter and its direct predecessor “Battlefield V” had 30 primary weapons when it was launched. In the still popular “Battlefield 4” there were even 84!
The competition is also better equipped. In the freshly released “Call of Duty: Vanguard” there are 38 weapons to choose from. Players are offered seven assault rifles, six SMGs, four machine guns, four shotguns, three sniper rifles and three DMRs. The number of secondary weapons and rocket launchers is nine models.
However, the 22 weapons only relate to the All Out Warfare mode. In portal mode, the soldiers’ equipment will be much more varied. Electronic Arts promises according to official information over 75 different weapons from previous offshoots of the “Battlefield” series. The kit lets you decide which weapons can be used on the battlefield.
