The Jalisco New Generation Cartel, CJNG, commanded by Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, better known as Mencho, Gallero, and Señor de los Gallos, who has been gaining ground in Mexico is not only in the sights of the Mexican government, but that of the United States.

It has transpired that both the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, and that of the United States, Joe Biden, have put on the table for dialogue the causes, as well as the effects that the operations of organized crime bring to both countries, therefore that the Mexican government has decided to apply a Black Code for the north of the country.

It will be between October and November that Mexico, with the support of its neighboring country, will seek to dismantle the Jalisco New Generation Cartel which has its operations center in Jalisco and Nayarit, specifically in Guadalajara and Bahía de Banderas as protected areas.

With the Black Code, both governments seek to fully dismantle the CJNG (which has been classified by the national security organs and the Armed Forces of Mexico and the United States as the second most powerful criminal organization in the country for its capacity for drug trafficking, assassinations, kidnappings, fuel theft) as well as reducing violence within Mexican territory and stopping the flow of fentanyl to the northern country.

The National Guard, the Army, as well as the Mexican Navy will participate in this operation where they also hope to capture Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, who, according to Andrés Manuel López Orador, was empowered by the government of Felipe Calderón and was tolerated by Enrique Peña Nieto.

Meanwhile, the Mexican government has asked its neighboring country for help to curb arms trafficking since it is thanks to this practice that the drug cartels become more powerful.

The Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel is classified by the United States as one of the most violent cartels in Mexico and that it has grown its power rapidly in various traffic corridors such as Tijuana, Juárez and Nuevo Laredo.

Zero and two go

This is not the first time that the Mexican government has acted against the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel at the request of the United States, On June 2, 2020, the Financial Intelligence Unit, UIF, launched the Agave Azul operation with which it blocked accounts of 1,770 individuals, 167 companies and two trusts linked to the cartel.
