“Dialogue With” reviews the pillars of developing Arabic grammar

The “Dialogue with” initiative discussed “grammatical axes and their impact on developing Arabic grammar”; The session was broadcast on Monday evening on the YouTube channel of the Qatari Forum for Authors. This came within the activities of the celebration of the International Day of the Arabic Language, which was launched by the Forum, in cooperation with the Qatar Committee for Education, Culture and Science, which will continue from December 18 to the first of next March, which is the Arab Day to celebrate the language of Dhad. Dr. Ali Afifi, the initiator of the initiative, reviewed the biography of his guest, Dr. Anas Muhammad Raafat Saeed; He mentioned that he graduated from the Department of Arabic Language, College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Qatar University, in 1996, with a grade of excellent, and in 2002 obtained a master’s degree with a grade of very good, and a doctorate in 2010, with first honors, and worked as a teaching assistant in the Department of Arabic Language, Faculty of Arts, Menoufia University ( Egypt) in 1998, then a teacher of grammar and morphology at the same college. He also worked as a lecturer at Ahmed Military College in the State of Qatar, in addition to providing language consultations to cultural institutions in the State of Qatar, including the Ministry of Culture. As for his writing achievements, he has two published books, the first titled « Grammatical axes, collection and objective study.” Dr. Anas emphasized during the session that the grammatical axes are related to the establishment of the science of grammar; The first founder of grammar was Abu al-Aswad al-Du’ali, who was in the era of Ali bin Abi Talib, the Emir of Basra, which was famous for being a port and a commercial market in which merchants gathered from all over, Arabs, non-Arabs and Rome. In the Holy Qur’an, the Emir of Basra, who was from the “Kinana” tribe, and was eloquent, was disturbed by this, so he decided to set up investigations in the propositions, the predicates, the notes, etc., and pointed out that the founder of grammar set the rules spontaneously away from philosophy, and his goal was to protect the Arabic language in light of diversity. The cultural experience experienced by the Arab countries, and the mixing of Arabs with others. Dr. Anas emphasized that the readings of the Noble Qur’an are numerous, so that the companions were not familiar with all the readings, and therefore those who do not know the type of reading consider it a melody, which is what prompted Al-Du’ali to strive to preserve and codify the Arabic tongue, and after him came Sibawayh, who developed the science of grammar, and developed for it its basic rules. He said, “By grammar, it is intended to speak as the Arabs, in whose tongue the Qur’an was revealed, which necessitates going down to the Arab tribes, and classifying them to reach the tribe that retained the greatest degree of eloquence, and to stay away from the tribes close to the non-Arabs and the Romans.” He added: The Quraish were the most eloquent of the Arab tribes; Where it moved away from strange words, which alienate the ear and the soul, which made the words of the Noble Qur’an easy and accessible, especially since the transmission of the language is done by hearing, and from here the grammatical axes began, which perform the task of building on the steady, and bringing down the grammatical influences as real influences. The grammatical axes are a set of logical and rational foundations that help in developing the rules of the Arabic language. He pointed out that his interest in grammatical axes began when he was a student at the university; Where he was standing on strange issues, and big problems, especially with regard to the Holy Quran, and the major dilemma, which he faced was the arrangement of the grammatical axes; The grammarians did not care about their arrangement, and the lack of interest was a major cause of disagreement between them during their attempts to solve grammatical issues. The lecturer defined the concept of grammatical axes; It is a set of mental and logical pillars, upon which the grammarians relied, to set the rules. Grammar was also defined as the deviation of the symmetry of the speech of the Arabs; That is, he teaches Arabic students how to speak as the first Arabs spoke, then between the grammatical axes arranged in order; He started with the axis of meaning because it is the basis of speech, then he mentioned the axis of regularity because the rules are built only on the steady, then the axis of bringing down the grammatical influences as the real influences, and between what is meant by the last axis. Dr. explained. Anas that the interlocutor was to set rules and solve grammatical problems, and gave examples of that, and he sent a message to the teachers of the Arabic language inviting them to pay attention to functional grammar, and not to focus on what Sibawayh and others said; Pointing out that this science laid a basis for preserving the Arabic language, so that people could speak in the proper Arabic tongue. Rather, it was written so that the student would be able to speak the language in which the Noble Qur’an was revealed.”
