Rio Ruiz to play in South Korean baseball in 2022
Third baseman Rio Ruiz is close to joining Korea’s LG Twins baseball team, Daniel Kim reported.
This will be joined by former Major League Baseball players Casey Kelly and Adam Plutko, also recently signed by the Twins.
This year, Ruiz began playing second base in an attempt to increase his versatility. In May, the Orioles put him on assignment. The Rockies reclaimed Ruiz and finally removed him from their 40-man roster in October.
In MLB, he has a .212 average, 28 home runs, 109 RBIs and a .644 OPS in 316 games.
