Al Kaabi wins silver in the Arab Golf Championship
Our first golfer, Saleh Ali Al-Kaabi, achieved a new achievement to be added to the record of achievements in the Qatar Golf Association, by winning the second place and the silver medal for the singles of the Arab Championship in Egypt after a fierce competition over four days, especially with the players of Tunisia, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
The tournament was concluded on the stadiums of the Dreamland Club in Egypt, during the period from 16 to 23 December, with the participation of about 45 of the finest Arab golf players, representing a total of 11 Arab countries, except for Morocco, which did not participate in the tournament. The participating countries were the State of Qatar, Lebanon, Palestine and the Sultanate of Oman. Oman, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Tunisia and Libya, in addition to Egypt, the host country.
The Qatari golf team, as a team, ranked fourth behind the Egyptian team, by one stroke only, noting that the team crowned the championship is the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, followed by the Tunisian team, while Egypt came in third and Qatar in fourth place.
The Qatari golf delegation headed by Fahd bin Nasser Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Qatar Golf Association, was represented by coach Hassan Ibn Ruqayya and the players Abdul Rahman Abdullah Al Shahrani, Ali Abdullah Al Shahrani, Saleh Ali Al Kaabi and Jaham Jassim Al Kuwari.
